When Dave & Buster’s wanted to bring larger-than-life interactive gameplay to their arcades, they partnered with Contour Entertainment to reimagine a classic toy—Rock ’Em Sock ’Em Robots—at an entirely new scale. The goal was to create a fully immersive, life-sized attraction where guests could physically command towering robots in a head-to-head boxing match, blurring the line between nostalgic gameplay and arcade spectacle.

Rando Productions was brought on to engineer and fabricate the foundation of the attraction. Their team designed and built the custom boxing ring structure as well as the mechanical base that powers the robots’ dynamic movements. This precision-engineered foundation ensured durability, guest safety, and seamless integration with Contour’s robotics and show control systems.

Guests step up to joystick controls positioned ringside, instantly becoming the pilots of massive robotic fighters. Every punch, jab, and block is controlled in real time, creating an engaging experience that draws spectators and competitors alike. The oversized set piece not only captures attention on the arcade floor but also delivers the thrill of interactive play on a theatrical scale.

Contour Entertainment led the creative design, developing the robots and programming the interactive show control system, while Rando Productions delivered the heavy-duty fabrication expertise that made the attraction possible. Together, the collaboration transformed a nostalgic tabletop game into an unforgettable, full-scale arcade centerpiece.
